The word on the street is Aurasma

In the advertising world, the talk is always about ‘Share of Voice‘ i.e. the impact that any piece of advertising is having in comparison with the rest of the advertising noise. This is measured in many ways including a set-top monitor box which tracks a representative sample of TV viewers to gauge how the advertising is affecting them.
In an online context, this phenomenon is much more difficult to measure but the issue is the same – how do you make an impact when all around you are trying to out-impact you?

This is why we are always looking for something new – to give us an edge!!

Enter Aurasma.

This is a really clever little piece of software that sits on a smartphone and, when the viewer is held over a static image, suddenly content ‘magically’ comes to life behind the image.

This is not like QR codes or ‘augmented reality‘, and the consumer is not being taken away to a new site and other than the small piece of software, nothing is being downloaded to the device – this is Enhanced Content at it’s very best, giving the viewer a much better understanding of a product or service by being able to view image or more usually a video.

It is also very simple to use:Aurasma-Advert_A5

1. Download the Aurasma app for any Android or iOS device.

2. Search for ‘OfficeView‘ press ‘Like’, then press ‘Follow’

3. Then point the viewer at any image that shows the logo and suddenly, voila, content. Check thisĀ out:

It’s as simple as that – but don’t you just love it when technology really works!!
